Bio

Jerry Villa is in his first season as Assistant Women's Wrestling Coach for the Lady Vikings.

Originally from Royal City, WA, Villa attended Royal High School. During his time at Royal, he was a multiple-time state participant and placer. Additionally, Villa helped lead Royal to two state titles under Coach Ben Orth and Washington state Hall of Fame Coach Ron Seibel.

As a coach, Villa has been part of several successful wrestling clubs in the Yakima Valley and in the Columbia Basin, which have given him valuable coaching experience locally and on national level. Villa also spent several seasons on the coaching staff at Royal High School with both the boy's and girl's teams. Additionally, Villa spent three years coaching at Wenatchee High School, developing the program's first-ever two-time state placer on the girl's side.

Villa's niece, Emma, is currently a high school senior at Royal and plans to wrestle after high school. This has motivated Villa to continue to grow the sport of women’s wrestling. Villa is currently Copper and Bronze certified through the USA Wrestling Coaches Education Program. In addition, he holds an M3 level status as an official through USA Wrestling.
