Lady Vikes Come Up Empty

The Lady Vikes Volleyball team had a busy week. Three matches in five days proved to be a challenge for the Lady Vikes as they dropped all three matches.

BBCC began the week at home as they took on the Yakima Valley Yaks at the Devries Activity Center. Yakima came out firing and rode the momentum winning three straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-23 and 25-21. After coming out sluggish in the first set the Lady Vikes battled but were unable to defeat the Yaks. Jordyn Adams led the Lady Vikes with 11 kills and 10 digs, unfortunately there was little support on the offensive end making it difficult to overcome a powerful Yaks offense.

The Lady Vikes then hit the road and traveled to Pendleton, OR to battle it out against the Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves. Another sluggish start for the Lady Vikes as they fell 25-13 in the first set. After the slow start, BBCC turned it on taking the second set by a score of 26-24. Hoping to use this momentum into the next set, BBCC was unable to outscore the Timberwolves and fell in the third and fourth sets by scores  of 26-24 and 25-21.

To wrap up a busy week the Lady Vikes traveled to Wenatchee on Friday October 14th to challenge the Knights. Although the Lady Vikes fell to the Knights in four sets, two losses require extra points. Jordyn Adams collected 13 kills along with 18 digs, while Grace Fedie added 11 kills and 22 digs in the Viking loss.

BBCC volleyball prepares to take on the Columbia Basin College Hawks on Wednesday October 19th at the Devries Activity Center.

Come out and support the Vikes!
