Lady Vikings Surge In Home Region Opener

Big Bend Community College Lady Vikings turned in what was arguably their most complete basketball performance of the season, routing East region foe North Idaho College 78-64 on Wednesday (January 11th) at the Devries Center on the BBCC campus. At one point leading by as many as 30 points in the contest, the Lady Vikings road a 54% offensive barrage of while holding the Lady Cardinals to a season-low 32% from the field.

Sophomore Ambra Hacker continued her torrid scoring pace, posting 25 points on a dominant 10-11 from the field. Freshman Skylee Hopkins chipped in 15 points, with sophomores Callie Tolman (13) and Kassidy Alder (11) rounding out the double-figure scoring for the Lady Vikings. Freshman Macy Hellstern posted game-highs of 10 rebounds and 12 assists, compared to just two turnovers. For the visiting Lady Cardinals, Addie Kiefer finished with 17 points in the loss.

The Lady Vikings (8-7 overall, 2-1 NWAC East) will hit the road on Saturday, January 14th, traveling to eastern region foe Yakima Valley College (4-9 overall, 1-2 NWAC East). Gametime is set for 2:00pm, with the men's game to follow.
