Second Half Start Dooms Lady Vikes

A 21-0 run in the first four minutes of the third quarter by Peninsula College erased an 11-point halftime deficit and propeled the visiting Lady Pirates to an 82-75 win over the Lady Vikings of Big Bend Community College. The Lady Vikings held a 43-32 halftime league and seemed poised for their third victory of the young season, but the Lady Pirates had other ideas, and quickly went to work after the half and never looked back. For the Lady Vikings, sophomore Kassidy Alder was stellar, scoring a season-high 19 points, while keeping the Lady Vikings in the game until the final buzzer. Callie Tollman finished with 15 points, followed closely by Ambra Hacker's 12 and Skylee Hopkins' 11 points respectively.

The Lady Vikings will now turn their attention to the NWAC East Region Crossover. The annual event will be hosted by Big Bend and feature NWAC foes South Puget Sound, Whatcom, and Lane. The Lady Vikings play their first game of the event on Thursday (December 15th) at 6:00pm versus South Puget Sound.
