Defensive Struggles Continue

Coming off of a tough weekend, the Lady Likes had a quick turn around as they hit the road and traveled to Wenatchee Valley Community College to battle it out with the Knights.

Defense has been the achilles heel for the Lady Vikes up to this point and the defensive struggles proved costly again with four errors in game one. The Knights struck early, creating an uphill battle for BBCC. The fourth inning was the knockout punch as the Knights struck for 10 runs giving them a 16-0 lead going into the top half of the fifth forcing Big Bend to score six to earn another inning. The Lady Vikes were able to scratch across two in the top half resulting in a 10 run mercy rule with a final score of 16-2. Rebecca Carson was the bright spot going 2-3 at the dish while scoring a run and driving in another.

Game two was a similar story as the defense struggled committing 7 errors making it a challenge for the BBCC offense. The Lady Vikes were unable to stop the Knight offense resulting in an 18-7 loss. Although the pitching and defense struggled, the offense showed signs of life with Rebecca Carson continuing her stellar offensive day going 3-3 with a home run, scoring three times and driving in three, along with Chloe Peirce going 3-3 and scoring twice capped off with Alexis Bicondova going 2-3 at the dish.

BBCC will take on the Walla Walla Warriors on Tuesday April 4th at home.
