2024 Season Finale Set For Wednesday

With two games to play and the playoffs out of the picture, the Runnin' Vikes hoped to end the season on a high note to build some confidence going into the off season. BBCC played their final road game as they traveled to Walla Walla COmmunity College to face of versus the Warriors on Saturday February 24th. 

The game opened up with both teams shooting the ball extremely well as BBCC managed to shoot 52% from the floor including knocking down 3 of 5 from beyond the arc while Walla Walla hit 48% of their shots while knocking dow 42% from three. The difference maker was the long ball, although the Vikes shot a higher percentage from deep, the Warriors knocked down 8 three pointers giving the home team a 37-33 lead going into the break. Malik Beauford, Gideon Harris and Alex Zambonetti all dropped 6 points in the first half with Zambonetti nailing both of his three point attempts. 

Entering the second half trailing by four, the game plan was simple, defend the three point shot. BBCC continued to shoot the ball well hitting 42% of their shots and was able to hold the Warriors to 36% shooting over the final 20 minutes. Yet again, the deep ball was the difference maker with Walla Walla hitting 5 of 10 shots from beyond the arc stretching the lead to 8 as time expired. Malik Beauford led the Vikes in scoring dropping 14 points while grabbing 7 rebounds while Gideon Harris added 12 points of his own in the 71-63 loss. 

Head Coach Jason Hopkins was unavailable for comment. 

BBCC will play their final game of the season at home versus the Wenatchee Valley Knights on Wednesday February 28th at the Devries Activity Center at 7:00pm.
