Injury Bug Keeps Biting

Injury Bug Keeps Biting

BBCC traveled to to Walla Walla, WA on Saturday April 22nd to take on the Warriors.

Game one began with Hayden Schooler taking the bump who ended up going 4 2/3 but fell victim to free passes. Between 5 walks and a hit batter, 4 came around to score before handing it off to the bullpen. The Viking offense yet again, could not come up with the big hit when they needed it. Parker Plato and Jett Nelson each collected two hits and each scored twice, along with Kyler Nilson driving in two on an opposite field double. With mediocre play, the Vikes could not surmount the two seed and fell by a score of 7-5.

Game two rolled around and the Vikes faced off against a tough pitcher in Hunter Polley. The Vikes were held hitless until the fifth inning where Kyler Nilson was about to break up the no-no with a single up the middle and eventually came around to score. With only 3 hits and a team, and no big hit with runners on base the Vikes offense was handcuffed putting the pressure on the Viking pitching. Brett Nemechek and Joseph Moriarty worked the first three innings due to regular starter Brayden Weatherman going down with an elbow injury. Nemechek and Moriarty gave up two runs a piece which was enough for the Warriors to capture a 4-3 victory.

The Vikes prepare to take on the Wenatchee Valley Knights in Wenatchee, WA on Wednesday, follwed by hosting on Saturday April 29th.
