Gibson Shines in Split

Gibson Shines in Split

Coming off of a win, the Vikes were hoping to ride their momentum going into a crucial series versus the Walla Walla Warriors on home on Wednesday April 19th at home.

BBCC handed the ball to the trusty sophomore Hunter Gibson and he did not disappoint as he gave the bullpen the game off tossing a complete game shut out while punching out 5. The Vikes were able to strike in the first inning which was enough to secure the win. Parker Plato and Heath Hachkowski both collected two hits with Hachkowski driving in Plato twice resulting in a 4-0 win.

Costly miscue came back to bite the Vikes in game two dispite taking an early lead. Free passes by the pitching and a lack of execution by the offense was the difference in this game with multiple runs coming around due to walks and hit batters along with the Vikes failing to capitalize on opportunities on the offensive end. Heath Hachkowski continued his stellar offense day going 3-4 with two more RBI's while Tim Williams grinded through 7 1/3 innings of 4 run baseball. Missed opportunities cost the Vikes as they fell in game two by a score of 5-3.
