BBCC Drops 3 of 4 to SFCC

BBCC battled versus the Spokane Falls Sasquatch this past week in a four game set. 

The Vikes opened up on the road versus the Squatch on Wednesday April 6th in Spokane, WA. BBCC took an early lead going up 2-0 in the 5th inning but were affected by defensive mishaps letting the game to slip away and fell by a score of 7-2. Dylan Gardner recevied the loss going 5 2/3 innings giving up 3 earned and striking out six while the Viking offense struggled on managing 3 hits, 2 of which where collected by Jett Nelson.

Game two was a gut check for the the Vikes, once again going up early and falling behind in the middle innings trailing by a score of 4-1 after three innings. The Vikes chipped away and scored 2 in the fourth, one in the fifth and Gabe Passey's solo home run in the 6th gave the Vikes the lead that they needed. Both teams remained scoreless for the final three innings with Brandham Ponce coming in and slamming the door in the 9th earning the Vikes a game two victory by a score of 5-4. Jett Nelson collected two more hits in game two along with 2 RBI's while Gabe Passey put the nail in the coffin with his solo home run along with Timmy Willams picking up the win going 6 2/3 innings giving up 4 runs, 3 earned while striking out 5. 

BBCC hosted The Falls on Wednesday April 9th and game one was one for the books. A game with 7 lead changes throughout the back and forth battle. A quality offensive showing for both teams but the Falls got the last laugh scoring 2 in the top of the 9th inning capping off a 10-9 loss for the Vikings. Austin Bunn went 1-2 with two RBI's and scoring 3 runs, Jett Nelson collected yet another two hit game with an RBI and Matt Cox went 1-1 while scoring two and driving in one.

A sickness ridden Vikings team brought their best for the fourth and final game of the series but could not capitalize on offensive opportunities and fell by a score of 6-1. Kai Jones had one hit and scored the only Viking run while Parker Plato also had a hit driving in the only Viking run.

The Vikes host the Columbia Basin Hawks on Wednesday April 13th followed by heading to Pasco, WA to finish on the series on Friday April 15th.
