Vikes Roll Timberwolves

The Vikes opened up conference play on Wednesday March 30th versus the Blue Mountain Timberwolves at Viking Field.

Game one was a back and forth battle as the Timberwolves answered the call each time the Vikings were able to scratch across a run leading to a tie game into the 6th inning with a score of 2-2. The final three innings belonged to the Vikings, scoring 6 runs and Michael Demand throwing 3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen while striking out three. Led offensively by Gabe Passey who collected 3 hits including 2 doubles and dove in 2, Jett Nelson also collected 3 hits, while Brandham Ponce and Dalton Miller added two hits a piece, combined for four runs as well as driving in three between them leading the Vikings to an 8-2 victory.

After a solid team win the Vikes picked up right where they left off. Another offensive explosion had many contributors: Brandham Ponce went 3-4 with two runs scored and 2 RBI's, Dalton Miller went 2-4 scoring once and drove in three, Gabe Passey went 2-3 at the dish while scoring twice and driving in a run along with the reigning NWAC Player of the Year returning from the IL and collecting three doubles on the day carried the offense to a 10-0 victory. The offense was not the only highlight of the day, Timmy Williams got the ball for game two and was lights out from the first pitch till the last, going the distance and completing the 10 run mercy rule shut out with 7 strong innings, striking out 8 and taking a no-hitter into the 6th inning.
