Men's and Women's Basketball Come Up Empty

It was a tough week for BBCC Basketball for both the Men and Women.

Vikings Basketball took on North Idaho College on February 2nd in Coeur D'Alene, ID. The Lady Vikes struggled from the floor shooting 40% from the field, 29% from behind the arc and 53% from the free throw line. Although not their best shooting performance they battled making a late push but ultimately fell by a score of 74-63. The lady Vikes offense was led by Ambra Hacker with 17 points on 7-13 shooting along with 6 rebounds while no other Lady Vike was able to crack double digit points.

Looking to respond from a tough loss the Lady Vikes returned home to take on the Sasquatch on Saturday February 5th at the Devries Activity Center. This game came down to the wire, a back and forth battle where it came down to the final possession where BBCC was unable to capitalize and fell by a score of 61-57. Ambra Hacker put together another solid performance collecting 15 points and 7 rebounds while Emma Wilhelm managed 14 points going 4-7 from behind the arc along with Gracie Rigby scoring 12 points and grabbing 6 rebounds, although a quality team effort the Lady Vikes fell short.

The Men were looking to continue their momentum after defeating Blue Mountain CC this past weekend as they took on North Idaho College on the road. Although the Runnin' Vikes played well the Cardinals put together a lights out shooting display scoring 121 points shooting 58% from the floor, 16 three pointer and nearly 80% from the charity stripe. KaRon Sears led the way for the Runnin' Vikes with 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, Kevin Young put up a season high 12 points on 5-9 shooting along with Aaron Canepari collecting 10 points and 4 rebounds but it was not enough to keep up with the Cardnials as the Runnin' Vikes fell by a score of 121-73.

After a tough loss on the road the Runnin' Vikes looked to get back on track at home versus Spokane Falls CC on Saturday February 5th at the Devries Activity Center. Keenan Miller put together a solid performance matching his season average with 18 points on 7-16 shooting, DJ Frye collected yet another double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds along with KaRon Sears chipping in with a dozen points. Similar to the Women's game, the ending came down to the final possession where BBCC was unable to capitalize falling by a score of 71-67.

Vikings Basketball prepares to take on the Walla Walla Warriors at home on February 9th followed by a long road trip to battle the Treasure Valley CC Chukars in Ontario, OR on February 12th.

Come out and support the Vikes!
