Offensive Woes Plague Vikings In Loss

Offensive Woes Plague Vikings In Loss

Despite having one of the most dynamic offenses in the NWAC at this point in the season, the Big Bend Community College Vikings were unable to get it going on Saturday (January 28), falling to the visiting Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves 84-71.

The Vikings' leading scorer, sophomore Keenan Miller, was his stellar self, posting 22 points on 8-14 shooting. However, no other Viking was able to find the mark and place in double figures, as the Timberwolves held the Vikings to 39% from the field and 32% from three-point territory. Comparatively, the Timberwolves shot 53% from the field in the win, led Kash Lang and Chad Napoleon with 17 points each.

The Vikings finish off the first half of the NWAC Eastern Region slate in eighth place, but, with eight games to play, look to finish strong and make a push for the NWAC Tournament. The Vikings (4-13 overall, 2-6 NWAC East) jump back on the road on Wednesday (February 1), taking on league-leading and undefeated North Idaho College (19-0 overall, 7-0 NWAC East). Tip is scheduled for 7:30pm, following the women's contest. As always, stay updated on all-things-Viking through FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, as well as via the NWACSports Network's livestream video platform, where available.
