Vikings Baseball Sends Six Onto Next Level
After another successful season, Vikings Baseball sends six student athletes onto four year institutions.
Evan McLean - Whitworth University
Over McLean's two years as a Viking, Evan contributed on both sides of the ball. As a starting pitcher McLean compiled 40 innings over 7 starts and 3 relief appearances. At the plate he managed to put together a slash line of .333/.436/.515 with 2 home runs and 6 stolen bases.
Nainoa Ka'ahanui - Corbin Universtity
As a three year Viking Ka'ahanui played lock down defense recording a .972 fielding percentage at first base as well as a hitting slash line of .229/.343/.289 with 5 doubles and 10 RBI's.
Tristen Garland - Northwestern Oklahoma State
Also a three year Viking and team captain Garland was a top centerfielder in the Eastern Conference with a .985 fielding percentage and 3 outfield assists. Garland recorded a slash line of .288/.402/.354 over his three year career with 2 home runs and 30 stolen bases.
Skyler Sadora - College of Idaho
Sadora was the final third year Viking to move on to a four year institution. Skyler was a force at the plate his entire career as a Viking recording a slash line of .304/.450/.473 with 4 home runs, 17 doubles and 37 RBI's.
Zachary "Birdie" Valdez - Western Oregon University
Valdez competed at nearly every spot on the infield as a Viking. The surehanded infielder worked his way around the horn playing 3rd base, shortstop and 2nd base recording a .927 fielding percentage along with turning 7 double plays. At the plate Birdie's produced a slash line of .278/.419/.444 with 3 home runs and 9 doubles.
Dominic Signorelli - Lewis and Clark State College
Only a Vike for a single season, the Moses Lake native made an immediate impact. Converting from 3rd base to 1st base did not slow down Signorelli at the plate. Hitting in the heart of a league leading offensive line up, Dom put together a slash line of .342/.471/.553 with 3 home runs, 2 triples, 3 double and 23 RBI's in 24 games.
