Men's Wrestling Come Up Empty At Clack

In a transition year, with BBCC Wrestling switching from the NWAC to NJCAA, the schedule has experienced some changes forcing the athletes to adapt. With some lenghty stretches without competition, to fully loaded weekends the wrestling squad's ability to prepare has been tested.

The Vikes hit the road on January 26th to face off versus the nationally known powerhouse in Clackamas Community College. Unfortunately, the Vikes did not show well as Clackamas was able to shut out the Vikings by a score of 56-0. The lone bright spot was heavyweight Geedee Tsendjav who had a win in hand and was looking to put points on the board for the Vikings with just a few seconds left in the match. But the victory was extinguished when he slipped and hurt his knee. His opponent tackled him and onto his back and the win slipped through his fingers at the last second.

Head Coach Daviaire Dickerson had this to say regarding the disappointing loss.

"Next year, we will making the jump to NJCAA, so we will be seeing Clackamas every year from now on, both in duals and at conference. This time around it went less than ideal, but this will be a good measuring stick for us next year against which we can gauge our progress as a team"

The Big Bend Vikings will have their last regular season competition next Sunday against conference foe Washington State and Fresno State.

As always, keep up with the Lady Vikings on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, as well as through the NWACSports Network's livestream video platform, where available.
