Lady Vikes Drop Third Straight

Lady Vikes Drop Third Straight

After dropping a nail biter to Spokane on Wednesday, the Lady Vikes prepare to host their first conference game as Treasure Valley COmmunity College came to town.

Hoping to collect their first conference win, BBCC needed to get off to a quality start. Slow starts have been the story all season for the Lady Vikes and Saturday was no different. Shooting 4-16 from the floor in the first quarter put Big Bend in familiar territory where they were playing from behind after the first 10 minutes. After an improved 6-17 shooting in the second quarter BBCC hoped to close the gap going into the break but found themselves trailing 39-22 at halftime. The third quarter has generally been the Lady Vikes best quarter throughout the course of the season, versus TVCC they put together their best shooting quarter going 8-19 from the floor and were perfect from the free throw line but were unable to make up any ground. Big Bend needed to put together a high scoring fourth quarter to have a shot to walk away with a victory but only managed 6 points on 2-16 shooting over the final 10 minutes resulting in a 70-45 loss. BBCC's leading scorer Katie Hansen was held in check by the Chukars defense going 0-6 from the floor and failing to collect a point, Kali Kast on the other hand was able to score 12 points with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks in the loss.

BBCC has a bye this upcoming Wednesday putting their next game on Saturday January 20th as they host the Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves.

As always, keep up with the Lady Vikings on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, as well as through the NWACSports Network's livestream video platform, where available.
