Vikes Search For Spark

Coming off a home sweep the Vikes planned to use that momentum as they took on the Spokane Falls Sasquatch on Wednesday April 5th at home.

In the past Spokane has had Big Bend's number and Wednesday would be much of the same. Hunter Gibson was handed the ball for game one and threw 8 2/3 innings giving up 6 runs and striking out 8. Gibson was able to hold in close with it being a 2-1 ball game entering the 9th inning where Spokane was able to manufacture four runs to put the game out of reach. The BBCC offense came out sluggish scoring only one run on a defensive miscue by the Squatch. Dalton Miller went 2-5 at the dish while the rest of the Viking line up sprinkled in a few more hits throughout the course of the game resulting in a 6-1 loss in game one.

Tim Williams got the start in game two still looking to find his stride in his sophomore season. Williams went 5 inning giving up 5 runs on 5 hits before handing it off to the bullpen. The tie ball game was broke up due to a critical error made by the Viking defense cracking the game wide open in favor of The Falls 11-5. BBCC was able chip away making it a 3 run ball game entering the final inning but could not find a way to get it done resulting in an 11-8 loss. Kai Jones, Parker Plato and Gunner Graves all collected two hits a piece but it was not enough to defeat the Squatch.
