Lady Vikings Get Bounce-Back Win

Big Bend Community College Lady Vikings were able to blow open a close first half with an 18-7 2nd quarter, on their way to a hard-fought 63-50 NWAC East win versus visiting Treasure Valley Community College on Monday (January 16th). The visiting Lady Chukars made every possession difficult for the Lady Vikings, even pulling to within one near the end of the third quarter. However, the resilience of the Lady Vikings would prevail, as timely made free-throws and offensive execution down the stretch would seal the win for the Lady Vikings.

Sophomore Callie Tolman continued her hot offensive streak over the last three games, as she 20 points, as well as adding eight rebounds to her stat line. Freshman Skylee Hopkins made clutch perimeter shots, on her way to 15 points. Sophomore Ambra Hacker finished with 13 points and a game-high ten rebounds. For the visiting Lady Chukars, Jazzy Jenkins led the way with 10 points off the bench, as the Lady Vikings were able to hold the Lady Chukars to 29% shooting from the field.

The Lady Vikings (9-8 overall, 3-2 NWAC East) now turn their attention to a road matchup with Columbia Basin College (9-4 overall, 2-2 NWAC East) on Wednesday (January 18th). Gametime is set for 5:30pm, with the men's game to follow.
