Lady Vikes Softball Sweeps Weekend

BBCC Softball traveled to Yakima, WA on Friday March 18th to take on the Yaks and took care of business. Game 1 was a well pitched contest with BBCC pitching collecting their first shut out of the season. Not only did the pitching take care of business, but the offense as well. Led by Marleigh Horrocks going 3-4 while scoring 2 runs and Brittney Brklacich having a monster day with 2 home runs and 4 RBI's guiding the Lady Vikes to a 7-0 victory.

Riding the high wave the Lady Vikes continued their momentum in game two. Truh Merriman put together a great performance going 3-4 at the plate with two singles and a home run while Brittney Brklacich and Gates Leatherwood chipped in with two hits and scoring two runs a piece leading BBCC to a road sweep and winning game two by a score of 12-8.

BBCC then hosted Wenatchee Valley on Saturday for a double header, game one was a dog fight back and forth until the end but the Lady Vikes were able to pull away and defeat the Knights in game one by a score of 7-5. Arianna Christensen led the way going 2-3 at the dish with a single and a home run while collecting 2 RBI's along with Truh Merriman slashing 2 hits, scoring 2 runs and driving in one leading BBCC to their fourth straight victory. 

Hoping to finish the weekend off with a sweep, BBCC's offense answered the call scoring 16 runs and defeating the Knights by a score of 16-9 on 21 hits. Rylee Coons had a monster day going 4-5 at the plate with a single, two doubles and a home run while driving in three, Arianna Christensen also went 4-5 while driving in and scoring three runs in addition to Jocelyn Chagoya chipping in 4 hits, scoring three times and driving in two and rounding out the offensive explosion was Truh Merriman with three hits including a home run and driving in two.
