Big Bend softball improved to 7-1 on the season after sweeping a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon against Miles City. Sophomore pitcher Alyssa Ray through 8 total innings and picked up two wins on the mound for the blue and green while freshman leadoff hitter Delci Lamb picked up 6 hits and drove in 6 runs to help power the Vikings offensively.

In a relief appearance, Alyssa Ray pitched the game's final four innings and held the Pioneers scoreless giving up just 3 hits and striking out 4. Delcie Lamb went 4-for-4 (double) at the plate scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 runs.
Hanna Reid also provided some pop at the plate going 2-for-2 with a home run and 5 RBIs and scoring twice. Freshman catcher Gates Leather finished 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and score 1 run.
In total, Big Bend finished with 16 total hits and was patient at the plate taking advantage of 9 walks from the Miles City pitching staff.

After picking up the "W" in relief in Game 1, Alyssa Ray returned to the mound in a starting role in Game 2 scattering 4 hits and 3 runs over her 4 innings of work and picking up her second win of the day. Freshman Kelsey Cardenas closed out the game pitching the final inning.
Sophomore outfielder Riley Newbold turned in a solid offensive effort finishing 3-for-3 (double and a home run), driving in 4 runs, and scoring a pair. Delci Lamb continued her stellar day at the plate picking up 2 more hits (2-for-4), including a double, while driving in 3 runs and scoring 3 more.
Big Bend will open Northwest Athletic Conference play on Friday, March 20th on the road at North Idaho. Games are scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.
