Knights' Offense Too Much For Vikings

Knights' Offense Too Much For Vikings

The Big Bend Community College Vikings were unable to consistently stop the visiting Wenatchee Valley College Knights, falling 96-79 on Saturday (January 21) in NWAC East play. The Knights shot a staggering 55% from the field and were even better from three-point range, knocking down 11 at a 69% clip. Additionally, the Vikings only shot 36% from the field, which would amount to a near season-low for the host squad.

Sophomore Karon Sears paced the Vikings with 23 points and a team-high six rebounds, followed by sophomore DJ Frye with 18, sophomore Keenan Miller with 13, and freshman Garin Macfarlane with 10. For the Knights, Justin Loveless and Ayoni Benavidez scored 61 of their team's 96 points in the win.

The Vikings (4-12 overall, 2-5 NWAC East) will take an extended break for their bye week, and reopen NWAC East play, hosting Blue Mountain College (9-8 overall, 2-4 NWAC East), on Saturday (January 28). Tip is scheduled for 4:00pm, following the women's contest. As always, stay updated on all-things-Viking through FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, as well as via the NWACSports Network's livestream video platform, where available.
