Runnin' Vikes Take 2 of 3 at Bigfoot Classic

The Runnin' Vikes hit the road this past weekend to compete in the Bigfoot Classic in Spokane, WA.

BBCC came out firing in game one and put up monster numbers by defeating Salish Kootnai by a score of 94-47. The Runnin' Vikes were led offensively by Keenan Miller who put up 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals while shooting 10-17 from the floor. Miller was not the only one to fill up the stat sheet in this Viking blow out, KaRon Sears collected 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists to go along with 3 steals while Ammon Brown chipped in with 15 points on 7-8 shooting with 8 rebounds and DJ Frye also managed 15 points and a team high 11 rebounds leading the Runnin' Vikes to an easy victory.

Game two was more of a test than the tournament opener with the Vikings taking on Highline and taking the second of three games by a score of 71-61. Similarly to game one, Keenan Miller, DJ Frye and KaRon Sears made an impact on the offensive end. DJ Frye led the way with a quality shooting night going 8-12 from the floor resulting in a 20 point performance to go along with a team high 9 rebounds. KaRon Sears collected 17 points shooting 50% from the floor to go along with 8 rebounds with Keenan Miller following suit and managing 14 points and 8 rebounds leading the Vikings to their second straight victory.

The final game was against the host and fellow easter region competitor Spokane Sasquatch. Going into game three looking for a weekend sweep the Runnin' Vikes had their hands full and lost a heartbreaker by a score of 83-78 after being outscored in the second half. The big three for the Runnin' Vikes filled up the stat sheet as per usual. KaRon Sears packed the stat sheet with 22 points, yet another team high of 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. DJ Frye also put together a big night with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Keenan Miller collected 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. The big three were not the only ones with notable performances as Kevin Young put up 10 points on 5-8 shooting and 6 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. 

After a solid weekend, the Runnin' Vikes head home to take on Lane Community College on December 17th and 18th at the Devries Activity Center.
