BBCC Baseball Go 1-3

BBCC Baseball took on Edmonds and Pierce this past weekend in a three team round robin at Viking Field.

The Vikes opened up on Friday March 18th versus Edmonds and ran into a tough arm on the mound. The Vikings managed only 2 hits over 9 innings resulting in a 3-0 loss to begin the weekend.

Game 2 began in similar fashion with the Vikes falling behind by a score of 3-0 until the 6th inning where BBCC scratched across two runs, followed by a single run in the 7th tieing the game up at 3. Going into the 9th tied Edmonds caught a break with a lead off error allowing the Tritons to score 4 runs in the top of the 9th inning resulting in a 7-3 loss for the Vikes. Dalton Miller put together a stellar performance, locking down shortstop while adding 3 hits and scoring a run along with Brandham Ponce and Kai Jones adding each two hits.

The Vikes hoped to get back in the winning category on Saturday as they played a single game versus Pierce. BBCC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning which stood for 5 innings until Pierce responded with 4 runs taking a 4-2 lead going into the bottom half of the seventh inning where the Vikes responded with a four spot giving BBCC the lead and were able to hold on to a 6-5 victory. Jett Nelson collected 2 hits and 2 RBI's as well as Gabe Passey adding in a hit and 2 RBI's while Kai Jones scored two of the Viking runs in a solid victory.

Going into the final game of the weekend hoping for a split. The Vikes jumped out to another 2 run lead in the first inning but Pierce was able to chip away to tie it up at 2 going into the 6th inning where they exploded for 8 runs. The Vikes were unable to come up with a big inning to come back and ultimaetly fell by a score of 11-4. Jett Nelson, Brandham Ponce and Gabe Passey all had two hits accounting for 6 of the 10 Viking hits but it was not enough.

The Vikings head over to the west side to take on Tacoma and Everett this upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
