BBCC Announces New AD

BBCC is excited to welcome John Meeks as the new Athletic Director!

John holds a Master's Degree in Physical Education from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Bluefield College and has extensive experience in college athletics.

He was the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Wallace State Community College for nine years and Louisburg College for two years.  Both schools are in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).  Prior to that, he was an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for three years each at Lee University and Bluefield College, both of which are in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). At each school he had winning records and enjoyed eight national tournament appearances.  As a coach he organized youth summer camps and did fundraising.  He served as an intern at the NJCAA national office and was elected four times as the Vice President of the NJCAA's Men's Basketball Coaches Association.

John is also well grounded in college instruction and academics.  He is currently working as a full-time Physical Education and Health instructor at Davidson-Davie Community College in Lexington, NC.  At most of the colleges where he coached, he also taught classes as an associate faculty.  John has maintained a strong emphasis on academic success and claims a 93% graduation rate of the student athletes he coached.  In 2017-18 his team had the highest GPA in men's basketball in the NJCAA.
