Vikings Basketball Split Week

Women's Basketball traveled to Pendleton, OR on Saturday February 26th to take on the Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves. The Lady Vikes came out firing shooting 45% from the floor as a team and cashing in on 8 three pointers leading BBCC to an 8 point victory by a score of 76-68. Led by freshman Ambra Hacker who posted yet another double double scoring 19 points on an efficient 6-8 shooting while collecting 10 rebounds, along with Kaitlyn Callahan also dropping 19 points on 6-13 shooting leading the Lady Vikes to a comfortable victory.

The Lady Vikes then traveled to Walla Walla, WA trying to continue adding to the win column. Unfortunately BBCC struggled heavily from the floor shooting 33% along with 42% from the free throw line. An overall difficult game for the Lady Vikes with their shooting troubles, BBCC only had one player crack double digit points. Camy Balderree had one of her best performances of the season going 5-8 from the floor while going 4-6 from behind the arc and collecting 16 points, with no other significant contributions the Lady Vikes fell by a score of 68-47.

The men also traveled to Pendleton, OR on Saturday February 26th to take on the Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves. The men also put together a stellar shooting display shooting 48% from the floor leading the Runnin' Vikes to a 75-71 victory. Led by KaRon Sears who dropped 24 points on 10-13 shooting while snagging a season high 5 steals along with Kennan Miller who collected 19 points on 50% shooting while DJ Frye chipped in with 11 points and 6 rebounds getting the Runnin' Vikes back into the win column.

BBCC then traveled to Walla Walla, WA to take on the Warriors where the Runnin' Vikes lost in a heart breaker. Another stellar shooting display shooting over 50% as a team brought this game down to the wire but the Vikes unfortunately fell by a score of 91-89. Keenan Miller led the way dropping 33 points and 7 rebounds while DJ Frye added 19 points and 7 rebounds. The game came down to the charity stripe where the Runnin' Vikes missed 9 free throws seeming to be the primary reason for the tough loss.

BBCC Basketball prepare to take on Wenatchee Valley this up coming Saturday, followed by battling North Idaho on Wednesday March 9th.

Come out and support the Vikes!
