Hawks Outlast Lady Vikes

BBCC's home opener took place on September 8th, 2021 as the Lady Vikes took on the Columbia Basin College Hawks. 

The Lady Vikes came out firing with an early lead and ultimately taking the first set with a score of 25-22. The Vikes and Hawks next battled back and forth with CBC taking the second set by a score of 25-18, and BBCC responding in the third set with a score of 25-20. With an opportunity to close out the match in the fourth set, the Hawks took it by a score of 25-16 pushing it to a fifth and final set. Going back an forth in the final set the Hawks pulled ahead with the win over the Lady Vikes with a score of 15-12.

BBCC's offense came alive collecting 54 kills over five sets. Gabriella Rios led with 20 kills , followed by other teammates who made significant impacts. Elli Rodgers pounded 13 kills and led the Vikings with 4 blocks. Mya Buchert also added 11 kills in addition to contributing 16 out of BBCC's 89 digs on the defensive side. 

The Lady Vikes are not stopping for long as they prepare for a full weekend of competition on the road at Mount Hood Community College this Friday, September 10,2021 and Saturday, September, 11, 2021.
