Vikings Outmatched In 2nd Half

Despite only being down six points at the half, the Big Bend Community College Vikings basketball team saw a different Walla Walla Community College team in the second half, as the Warriors outscored the homestanding Vikings 49-30 on their way to an 86-61 victory.

The Walla Walla offense was too much for the Vikings to overcome, as the Warriors shot 48% from the field, compared to 33% for the Vikings, while only committing nine turnovers in the contest. Freshman Mason Panelo came off the bench to lead the Vikings in scoring with 12 points, followed by freshman Quin Goldsmith with 11 points. Freshman Mason Hart finished with a 10-point, 11-rebound effort for his first double-double of the season. For the visiting Warriors, Kyson Rose scored 35 in the win.

The Vikings (4-16 overall, 2-9 NWAC East) hope for a turnaround this weekend, as they visit Treasure Valley Community College (5-17 overall, 1-9 NWAC East) on Saturday (February 11). In their previous meeting, the Vikings came out on top 81-75. Tip-off is slated for 4:00pm PST, following the women's contest. As always, stay updated on all-things-Viking through FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, as well as via the NWACSports Network's livestream video platform, where available.
