Pitching Woes Continue

Due to weather BBCC's four game set versus Walla Walla CC was cut in half resulting in a Sunday double header at Walla Walla Community College on March 12th.

Game one was a marathon lasting 12 innings in a back and forth battle. Hunter Gibson was handed the ball for game one and managed 6 innings of work while striking out 7, with the only blemish being a four spot put up by the Warriors in the 3rd inning. The Vikes were down going into the 8th inning and managed to take the lead after scoring four in the top half but giving it right back with the Warriors scoring a run in the bottom of the 8th. Brayden Weatherman threw 6 innings of three run ball while striking out five leading the Vikes to an extra innings victory by a score of 9-7. Ben Schnurman led the way offensively with 3 hits and two RBI's along with Zack Geertsen, Tyler Balkenbush and Parker Plato adding two hits a piece.

After an emotional roller coaster the Vikes were looking for their first sweep of the season. Hayden Schooler started game two coming off of extended rest after missing a start due to weather the previous weekend and looked rusty. Schooler did not make it out of the first inning after walking four and giving up 5 runs. An early hole was too much for the Vikes as they could not overcome the early deficit resulting in a 9-4 loss.

The Vikes prepare for another four game set this weekend with their home opener on Friday March 17th versus Wenatchee Valley followed by heading down to Wenatchee to take on Shoreline for two on Saturday!
