Vikings Baseball Takes Home Prestigious Awards
After a stellar 2020-2021 season for Vikings baseball, outfielder Austin Bunn and pitcher/infielder Brandham Ponce received national recognition by being selected as Pacific Association All-Americans.
Bunn led not only the Vikings but the entire NWAC in most offensive categories with a slash line of .397.565.846 with a league leading 9 home runs and 30 RBI's in 26 games. In addition to 1st team All-American honors, Bunn was awarded NWAC Position Player of the Year.
As a two way threat, Ponce not only did damage at the plate putting together a slash line of .354/.406/.583 with 3 home runs but also managed a 2.35 ERA over limited relief appearances on the mound. Ponce was selected as a 2nd team All-American as well as recieving 1st Team All-Conference as a utility player.
