First Year Coaches Take Teams To Postseason

Viking Athletics went through major changes this season with new coaches taking over programs for the outdoor sports.

Chase Tunstall took over the baseball program this past fall for his first collegiate coaching position. Tunstall was born and raised in Moses Lake and has been a part of the Viking Baseball program for some time. From a bat boy, to a player to now taking over the program, Tunstall has seen the growth that BBCC baseball has taken over the past 20 years. As a first year coach, Chase led the Vikings to a conference record 19 wins along with punching a ticket to the postseason as the number 2 seed in the Eastern Region, a feat that had not been accomplished in over 10 years.

Kylee Brulotte took over the softball program late this past year and turned the program around by making the playoffs in her first year as well. Brulotte was a 2 year standout at Wenatchee Valley CC followed by finishing up her college career at Mount Marty University before taking on the head job at BBCC leading the Lady Vikes to an 18-14 in conference sealing thie deal for a playoff berth.

BBCC Baseball will be hosting a Regional at Viking Field on Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th. Friday's game one will be Mount Hood CC (3 Seed) versus Grays Harbor or Centralia (4 Seed) in a win or go home game followed by the Vikes taking on the winner for a best two out of three series for a tournament berth.

Softball's playoff schedule is yet to be determine.

Come out and support the Vikes!
