Sophomore Karon Sears scorched the nets for a season-high 29 points, as the Big Bend Community College Vikings ended a three-game losing skid with a critical 81-75 NWAC East win over visiting Treasure Valley Community College on Monday (January 16).

The Vikings held a slim 35-32 lead at the half, but were able to take control of a back-and-forth contest late in the second half to secure the win. In addition to his 29 points, Sears grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists. Sophomore Keenan Miller scored 19 points, while sophomore DJ Frye came up just short of a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Garin Macfarlane had a game high seven assists, as the entire Viking squad played unselfish basketball the entire night, finishing the game with 22 assists as a team compared to only ten turnovers. For the visiting Chukars, Aidan Slater finished with 16 points.

The Vikings (4-10 overall, 2-3 NWAC East) hit the road once again, traveling to Columbia Basin College (12-2 overall, 2-2 NWAC East) on Wednesday (January 18) for their next NWAC East contest.
